Buddy grew up in a musical family singing in church where his mother played the piano and his father lead the singing. At age 9, Buddy started singing and sitting in on upright bass with his dads bluegrass band which is a pretty hard task for someone so small to play an instrument so big. By age 10, he had already started playing guitar and, at age 12, Buddy played electric bass for several area southern gospel bands until graduating high school. After graduation from high school in 1991, Buddy went on to attended Middle Tennessee State University. While at MTSU he started getting his foot in the door in the country music business. In 1993 he signed a recording contract with RCA Records in Nashville. Buddy had an independent top 5 single in 1995. Buddy took a break from the music business for a few years until 2001 when he started a band playing guitar and singing lead vocals in a bluegrass band called Out and Runnin'. In the 8 years with Out and Runnin' they cut two cds, 'First Ride' and self titled 'Out and Runnin'. In the Fall of 2009, Out and Runnin' and the bluegrass gospel band, The Soul Pickers, merged together and became The Bluegrass Soul Pickers that recorded on Blue Circle Records that Tom T. and Dixie Hall own. They released one cd in 2010 called 'If I Ever Get Home' that reached the Top 14 for Cashbox in the Bluegrass genre. In the winter of 2011, Buddy joined the band Cornbread Red, who recorded 17 'Pickin On' albums for CMH Records. Buddy was a founding member of the Judge Talford Band that recorded 2 independent projects. In the winter of 2017 Buddy heard the call of the Lord to step away from the road with Judge Talford and lead worship. He is so excited about leading worship at Fair Haven Baptist Church. Buddy and his wife Kim stay busy raising their children.
